Hieu Carson Roberts

We are pleased to announce the birth of newest member of the Roberts Family... Hieu Carson Roberts... Hieu was born on Friday, December 19, 2008 and weighed 7lbs 14ozs and is just about as healthy as babies get.

Unfortunately, as many of the readers of this blog already know, Han experienced some serious complications following the delivery. After Hieu was born, Han lost a lot of blood, and eventhough it seemed like the doctor had gotten everything under control about an 1 1/2 hours after Hieu was born, Han started to bleed again and her blood pressure dropped. A team of doctors then began working on Han to stop her bleeding and restore her blood pressure. To make a long story short, Han had to undergo an emergency Hysterectomy which probably saved her life. All in all Han recieved 10 units of blood and spent two nights in the ICU. She was able to come home on Tuesday afternoon, and is now on the road to what I hope is a speedy recovery. Luckily Mom was able to come in on Thursday and help with the kids. Also, one of our home teachers who lives down the street from us was able to watch Khai and Elden so that mom could come to the Hospital Friday evening, and Han's sister, Lan, and her boyfriend, Alex, were able to come in late Friday Night and spent the majority of the weekend with Han recovering in the ICU. We are greatful for everyone's calls and prayers, and we wish yall a Merry Christmas!

Love,

Daniel, Han, Elden, Khai & Hieu

Hope all of you are doing well. I took Beverly yesterday to have the stitches removed from her corporal tunnel surgery which took most of the afternoon—mainly just waiting. I know she was glad to have all that bandage removed as her elbow was also involved.
We enjoyed having your parents and Philip here briefly. It seemed like Philip had grown a lot taller since I had last seen him. which I am sure is normal for a person his age.
Happy New Year and love.
